Summer weather is approaching, and with temperatures in the mid-90’s, I need a fuss-proof routine that gives me that warm, natural and glowing look.
Check out a few of my tips and tricks for a low effort, high impact routine.
Lips: I like to travel light in the summer, which means no room for my lip balm, lipstick and lip gloss. Instead, I use the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm that both moisturizes and tints lips for a natural-looking pout. The Chubby Stick moisturizes with mango and shea butter for softer, smoother, sheener lips. Even better, the Chubby Stick comes in over 15 colors.
Eyes: Cat Eye sunglasses are one of the hot accessories to have this season, as seen on the Spring/Summer 2012 runway with Anna Sui, Proenza Schouler and Tory Burch. Michael by Michael Kors is also sporting a great pair of cat eye’s this season for only $99.
Face: One of the most important skin care tips I while working in the industry, with Make Up Artist’s like Pat McGrath, is to protect your skin and especially your face from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is great for summer because it not only protects your skin with 20 SPF, but also has a color-tinting moisturizer that gives you a light and healthy, “just tanned” glow.
Body: Skip the tanning beds this summer and try self-tanning with L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes. They’re easy to use and a give a nice, even glow to your skin without the harmful effects of tanning.
Hands/Feet: Neon colors are heating up our mani/pedi’s this summer with colors in fluorescent orange, citron yellow, hot pink or kelly green. Check out the new, orange crush from Essie, Fear or Desire
Hair: In the summer’s heat, I need a good moisturizer to keep my hair from looking dry and damaged. My little trick is to use a hair mask as a leave-in conditioner. Using a sizeable amount of the mask, cover all of the hair and toss it up in a top-knot bun, a few hours later, you have bouncy, beachy waves that are ready to shine!
Do you have any tips/tricks to beat the summer’s heat? We’d love to hear from you!
